The Boston Bruins have established a trio of three winning streaks in the last month and will look to match the season with the Buffalo Sabers on Saturday night. Boston opened its last three-game series with a 3-2 victory in overtime on Dec. 29 at Buffalo, tied with the Bruins for third place in the Atlantic Division.

Boston suffered a series of injuries from several key players, but reached the middle of the season with 50 points after a 6-4 victory over Calgary on Thursday night. “To be honest with you, I’m happy,” Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said. “We would like to think that we are going to improve, simply because many of the people who have been excluded and who are key contributors are now in good health.” Buffalo ended a three-game winless drought with a 4-3 win over Florida on Thursday night, despite the absence of star captain Jack Eichel, who will also be out of Saturday’s game. “There is an opportunity,” Sabres striker Jeff Skinner said. “Obviously, this is a big hole to fill, but we will try to fill it out by a committee.”
