When Armageddon, a nuclear organization, destroys civilization on Earth, the only survivors are those of the 12 international space stations in orbit of the time. Three generations later, the 4,000 survivors who live in a space arc made up of connected stations are seeing their resources diminish and are facing drastic measures put in place to guarantee the future of humanity. Desperate for a solution, Ark officials sent 100 young prisoners back to the planet to prove their habitability. Having always lived in space, the exiles find the planet fascinating and frightening, but with the destiny of the human race in their hands, they must make their way to the unknown.
The filming of the series takes place in Vancouver, British Columbia. The pilot’s production took place in the second quarter of 2013. After the show went to a series, filming took place for the first season between August 2013 and January 2014. Filming for the second season began on July 7 of 2014 and ended in January. November 23, 2015. The third season filmed from July 15, 2015, to February 2, 2016. The filming of the fourth season began on August 2, 2016, and ended on January 18, 2017. The filming of the Fourth season began on August 14, 2016. 2017 and ended on January 27, 2018.
At the end of February 2013, Bob Morley and Eli Goree were interpreted respectively by Bellamy Blake and Wells Jaha, followed a day later by Henry Ian Cusick as Marcus Kane. Less than a week later, Eliza Taylor and Marie Avgeropoulos played the respective roles of Clarke Griffin and Octavia Blake. Throughout March, the rest of the cast was full, with Paige Turco as Abigail Walters (now Abigail Griffin), Isaiah Washington as Chancellor Jaha, Thomas McDonnell as Finn Collins, Kelly Hu as Callie Cartwig and Christopher Larkin as Monty Green.
