Liverpool is focusing again on the search for the title in English, while preparing to face Southampton on Saturday in Anfield. The home team is not only enjoying its best start in the Premier League season, it is also posting two impressive results.
After visiting Tottenham last Saturday and winning 2-1 to maintain the 100% record, they then received PSG in the Champions League and beat the French giant. While the 3-2 win might suggest a close match, Klopp’s men were endemic and lagged behind by two costly mistakes.
However, the German boss is convinced that his team should not take the Saints lightly if they want to win six victories out of six. With successive clashes with Chelsea, followed by games against Napoli and Man City, Klopp does not want to see Salah and company underestimate his opponent on Saturday.
The first three Southampton games produced a draw and two losses, but the St. Mary’s team has not lost a game since. However, they will not have striker Danny Ings because he is not eligible to play against his parent club.
Southampton has not been able to score against Liverpool in their last four meetings in the Premier League.
The giant from Merseyside has lost just three of his last 19 home games with the Saints (W10, D6).
Klopp’s men have not lost to Anfield in their last 23 games.
In addition, the Reds have maintained a clean sheet in their last seven high-level matches in England at their local stadium.
